Snip Season

Stop giving discounts on your boundaries. It's time to choose yourself.

Have you ever felt like your pain doesn't count unless it's observable? Like you're the “bigger person” for enduring a relationship that quietly erodes your joy? Whether it's a manipulative partner, a guilt-wielding relative, or an energy-draining friend, we've been taught that enduring chaos is more virtuous than choosing ourselves.

Those are lies.

Snip Season is your strategic toolkit for reclamation and survival. This isn't just a guide, it's a rebellion. Recovered people-pleaser and boundary-revivalist Dana Skalin provides a roadmap for those ready to stop confusing intensity with intimacy and start building a life rooted in genuine peace.

Inside this field guide, you will discover:

  • The Blueprint for Naming Toxic Patterns: Learn to unmask subtle rot, from gaslighting to “Flying Monkeys”, and trust your body before their excuses.
  • The Science of Your Nervous System: Understand why your body “overreacts” when you set a boundary, and how to use trauma-informed tools like the 5-4-3-2-1 method to stay grounded.
  • The ND Edition (Neurodivergent Strategies): Lived strategies for Autistic and ADHD brains to navigate sensory load, masking, and the unique challenges of neurodivergent boundary-setting.
  • The Script Lab: Practical, watertight templates for “In-House Survival,” “Parallel Parenting,” and the final “No-Contact Announcement.”
  • Safety-First Planning: A specialized checklist for high-risk exits, ensuring you protect your digital, financial, and physical life.

Whether you are quietly planning your exit or are already halfway out the door, Snip Season equips you with zero-tolerance for shame and 100% commitment to your healing.

You don't owe anyone your life. You only owe yourself the chance to heal.

About the Author

Dana Skalin

Dana left a physically and mentally abusive, narcissistic parental home at age 14. She tried numerous times to go no contact. It wasn't until 2020, after much therapy and healing, that she was finally able to go no contact for good. Now she uses her voice as an advocate for all women who were made to feel little, wrongly accused of bad behaviour, and gaslit into oblivion by the caregivers who were supposed to be their safety.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Dana is an advocate, author, advisor, and community-builder. She has ADHD, T2D, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, PCOS, EDS, Tinnitus, and is a survivor of narcissistic parental abuse.

Dana now lives with the love of her life, Andrew, her two adorable cats, Mimi & Luna, and her ever-growing colony of outdoor stray cats in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
